We now have received nine Gold Medals and a Trophy for Pinot Noir in the last five years!

We have let go the rocks at the bottom and given the Brightwater Star a bit of bling. Sparkling copper for the main range while the Lord Rutherford gets Gold!

There is only one cruise ship coming to Nelson this summer – the Caledonian Sky.
We were invited to show our Brightwater Vineyards wines to the 90 guests in an on-board tasting on Saturday 23 January.
The passengers all loved our wines and were very enthusiastic. Bottles were purchased and Brightwater Vineyards wines were served with the gourmet dinner that evening.
Widely considered as the premier awards event in the New Zealand Wine Calendar, we went into the Air New Zealand Wine Awards Dinner, already the proud winners of two gold medals – one for our Nelson Pinot Noir 2014 and one for our Nelson Pinot Gris 2015. We left as winners of the coveted Champion Pinot Noir Trophy.
On Saturday 7 November, Nelson Tasman Tourism and Wine Nelson hosted His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Her Royal Highness Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall at a “Source to Serve” wine event!
Our 2014 Nelson Pinot Noir has been awarded a Pure Gold Medal at the prestigious Air New Zealand Wine Awards announced today (10/11/15). This is the fourth Gold Medal for this wine and follows on from Spiegelau, Bragato and the International Aromatics competitions earlier this year.
Our 2014 Nelson Pinot Noir has just been awarded a Gold Medal at the International Aromatics Wine Competition in Christchurch this week. It was the only Pinot Noir to be awarded gold.
Brightwater Vineyards 2014 Nelson Pinot Noir has just been awarded a Pure Gold Medal at the Bragato Wine Awards in Blenheim this week. This follows on from the Gold Medal the same wine received at the Spiegelau International Wine Competition held in July.
The 2015 wines are all showing very good intensity and concentration of flavour. This concentration is really showing through nicely in the Sauvignon Blancs. The Pinot Noirs also are concentrated with nice ripe berry fruit flavours and great tannin balance. The Pinot Gris is very fruit driven and probably our best of the last few years. But the standout of the vintage will be the Chardonnays.
