Well known wine writer, Neil Hodgson, profiles our progress in the current issue of New Zealand Wine Grower (Apr/May 2012). Noting our recent trio of success at the Royal Easter Show – Champion Chardonnay, Champion Wine of the Show plus Winemaker of the Year!
Harvest started early this year and with a rush. It seemed that everything was ripening at the same time. A very busy couple of weeks picking Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling then, by the start of April, just about everything had been picked. Another two weeks and it was all in the tanks. Fermenting nicely.
We’ve just been awarded a gold medal for our 2010 Nelson Sauvignon Blanc at the inaugural Spiegelau International Wine Competition.
This continues our golden record of having received gold medals for Sauvignon Blanc every year for the last six years!
