We’ve just been awarded a gold medal for our 2010 Nelson Sauvignon Blanc at the inaugural Spiegelau International Wine Competition.
This continues our golden record of having received gold medals for Sauvignon Blanc every year for the last six years!
We also collected four silver medals at the same show for our 2010 Nelson Pinot Gris, 2010 Lord Rutherford Pinot Gris, 2009 Lord Rutherford Barrique Chardonnay and our 2010 Nelson Pinot Noir.
At the Spiegelau International Wine Competition the judges use style-specific Spiegelau stemware to taste the wines. This is believed to be a first for a wine show. It is the first year for the competition that received a total of 1108 entries from many countries including New Zealand, France, Italy, Australia, Spain and Portugal.
Trophies will be announced at the awards dinner on Friday 8 July, 2011.
